Susan Sarandon Dishes About ‘Thelma And Louise,’ 37-Year-Old Boyfriend
Susan Sarandon recently opened up about her experience on the set of Thelma and Louise, proving the acclaimed drama is just as popular now as it was back in 1991.
Sarandon tackled the role of Louise Sawyer in the flick, a woman who goes on the run with her friend Thelma (Geena Davis) after shooting a rapist in a parking lot. This prompts a statewide manhunt for the women, culminating in one of the most heartbreaking and inspiring finales in cinematic history. In short: it’s an incredible movie.
During her recent chat with Us Weekly, Susan Sarandon discussed her time on the set of Thelma and Louise. The award-winning actresses famously took part in what many consider cinema’s first selfie, a moment the ladies captured on Polaroid.
Sarandon told the outlet that filming the flick was a very positive experience.
“You know what I really liked? I had my family there with me and it was beautiful to be there on that desert, just working and enjoying the land. We got to stay on a ranch there, there were tons of small animals running around. It was a true getaway. Magical time.”
She also had nothing but kind words to say about her costar.
“We stay in as much touch as we can. It’s always good to see her and that was an amazing movie to make. I’m here on this coast and she’s on the other, so that makes it a little difficult but we’ve kept in touch. I think we’re going to do something for the big anniversary. That was a great connection to make.”
Thelma and Louise isn’t the only thing on Susan Sarandon’s mind these days. According to Page Six, the actress recently opened up about her 37-year-old boyfriend, Jonathan Bricklin. Not only is he romancing 68-year-old Sarandon, he’s also writing screenplays and helping her operate a string of SPiN ping-pong lounges.
During a chat with Hello! Magazine, Susan finally admitted that she’s dating Bricklin, though fans have suspected as much for quite some time. Although she remained tight-lipped about their relationship, she’s apparently ready to share a few details with the world.
“Our collaboration extends into several areas. It’s the soul of a person that interests me. When you are in love, the question of age, sex, color no longer hold any importance. We don’t live under the same roof. We’re not an ordinary couple.”
