Jessie J Wants Everyone To Stop Calling Ariana Grande A ‘Diva’
Jessie J hears rumors that pop star and former Sam & Cat star Ariana Grande is a total diva these days, but she isn’t buying it.
If you’re not a fan of Jessie or Ariana’s music, then you probably missed their collaboration “Bang Bang,” which you shouldn’t confuse with the similarly-titled Austin Mahone opus “Banga Banga.” Rumor has it Grande is a pain in the neck now that she’s had a taste of success, prompting some in the industry to dub the tiny singer a “diva.” However, Jessie doesn’t think you should listen to the haters. In fact, she claims these reports are just lies.
According to SFGate, Jessie J opened up about the “Problem” singer during a recent interview. In her humble opinion, everyone has Ariana all wrong. Despite the diva rumors, Jessie believes Grande’s head is on straight and her feet are firmly planted on the ground.
“She’s wonderful and she’s had an extraordinary amount of success and the media sadly can’t keep celebrating that, so they have to find something that they feel people would want to be more nosily interested in. I’ve had the ‘diva’ stamp, too… and there’s a very fine line between diva and survivor…. [The accusations are] complete and utter bulls**t and you can put that in [your story]!”
Jessie pretty much said the same thing to Us Weekly when asked about Grande’s diva-esque behavior. If there’s any truth to these rumors, then J hasn’t experienced it firsthand. In fact, Jessie believes the singer/actress is as real as they come.
“I always say, judge a person when you meet them. I’ve met Ariana, and there’s a very thin line between ‘diva’ and ‘survival.’ And a lot of people can’t [differentiate that] — and I’ve had that. I’ve had the diva stuff. And it’s when people can’t cope with how passionate you are, and how much you care. She’s super talented, she’s very young, and she’s very sure of what she wants. I think she’s wonderful. She’s great.”
While Jessie J seems to think Ariana is a-okay, others aren’t impressed with how the young singer is acting these days. The Inquisitr previously reported that some folks had a few issues with Ariana during a recent photo shoot. After the story started making the rounds, Grande said the rumors are nothing but a deep-fried batch of malarkey.
“It was just a photographer or something who got mad at me because I left to change my outfit mid-photo shoot because I didn’t like my top. I was like, ‘Oh, I’ll be right back!’ and then I came back and he had left. I was like, ‘Oh, s**t!’ Then he came out and said all these ridiculous, untrue things about me. I was like, ‘That’s not real. That’s nonsense!’ My fans know who I am, my family knows who I am, my friends know who I am and that’s all that matters.”
