Los Angeles Lakers News: Injury Problems Already Starting For Steve Nash
The Los Angeles Lakers were hoping to finally have Steve Nash healthy for an entire season, but it looks like the aging guard won’t make it to opening night without hitting the infirmary.
Nash sat out the first quarter of the Lakers 116-75 preseason loss to the Golden State Warriors on Sunday. While many assumed it was just to give Nash some rest, Lakers coach Byron Scott later revealed that Nash wasn’t feeling quite right.
Byron Scott said Steve Nash told him he was done for the night, said he just didn’t feel right.

Nash revealed that it wasn’t too serious, just a nagging injury.
Nash said he’s ok. Experienced “little sciatica problem” in last nights game. Didn’t want it to get worse so asked to come out

But as LakersNation points out, the injury isn’t a good sign for the Los Angeles Lakers or Nash’s long-term health.
“For those unfamiliar, sciatica describes the symptoms of leg pain and possibly tingling, numbness or weakness that originates in the lower back and travels through the buttock and down the large sciatic nerve in the back of the leg according to spine-health.com.”
“In other words, Nash is experiencing some of the same nerve issues that have plagued him throughout the last two seasons. It is undoubtedly a troubling thing to hear for all Lakers fans.”
Nash has worked tirelessly to prepare himself for the upcoming season and to hear him experiencing nerve issues before the season has even began can not possibly be good news.
The Los Angeles Lakers have already been hit with some other injury problems before the season even starts. Guard Nick Young suffered a tear of his radial collateral ligament, an injury that is expected to put him out through the start of the season. Though Young may not be irreplaceable, the injury will force the Lakers to give Kobe Bryant more minutes than they had wanted early in the year.
