Guns N’ Roses Have Two New Albums Recorded And Ready To Go
Guns N’ Roses guitarist DJ Ashba has revealed that the legendary rock band has two new albums already recorded and ready to be released in the near future.
Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose stated in a past interview that the band was halfway through recording a follow-up to their 2008 release Chinese Democracy, and had a remix version of their 2008 album recorded and ready to go.
“Axl, of course, has, I believe, two complete albums worth of songs already recorded and probably a sh*tload of other stuff I’ve never heard,” said Guns N’ Roses guitarist DJ Ashba. “He’s played me quite a bit of stuff that’s phenomenal, and, hopefully, I can get my hands on it and put my little stamp on it before all is said and done.”
Ashba claims that the new Guns N’ Roses music sounds a lot like their music that was released back in the late 80’s when the band was on top of the world, and he’s very excited about it. “It’s very much what I grew up on,” Ashba said. “What I loved about the band.”
When and how these albums will be released is still very much up in the air. With two albums recorded and ready to go at the same time, Guns N’ Roses could release a double-album much like they did back in September of 1991 when they released User Illusion 1 & 2.
As of right now there are not any scheduled Guns N’ Roses tour dates. Earlier this year it was rumored that the original guitarist for the band, Slash may make a return to the band and go on one last tour with them. Sadly, Slash is no longer open to the idea.
There are many reasons why Slash doesn’t want to make his return to the band, however the strongest reason seems to be that he just doesn’t want to reach back to the past.
“Really the only people that obsess about Guns N’ Roses is the media. I think it’s just lack of imagination. I’m an in-the-moment person. I don’t look too far in the future and I definitely don’t draw on past stuff. Whatever it is that you’re doing right this second, just do that and do the best you can at it. And just keep pushing forward, always forward.”
Regardless of a Slash return to Guns N’ Roses, they’re still one of the biggest bands in the world, and their new albums, whenever they’re released, will likely do very well.
Are you excited to hear some new Guns N’ Roses music? Would you like to see Slash eventually make a return to the band?
