‘America Horror Story: Freak Show’ Spoilers About Matt Bomer’s Character: Will He Be Half-Woman?
American Horror Story: Freak Show has already introduced viewers to the World’s Smallest Woman, conjoined twins, and the world’s creepiest killer clown. Ryan Murphy’s striped tent is pretty packed, but there are still plenty of oddities to come.
One American Horror Story: Freak Show “unusual” viewers haven’t seen yet is the mysterious character played by Matt Bomer. Unfortunately, he probably won’t be performing any Magic Mike-style strip teases as the World’s Sexiest Man.
According to E! News, Bomer’s character will make his first appearance in Episode 5, and he’ll have a “seven-page encounter” with Michael Chiklis’ Strongman character, Dell Toledo. Matt Bomer described their scene as having a “demented Tennessee Williams” feel, and Ryan Murphy told E! that “something really horrible” will happen during the episode.
“I texted Matt and I told him ‘I’m writing this character and said you have first right of refusal. It’s really f***ed up.’ And he wrote back 30 seconds later, ‘I’m in.’ It’s maybe one of the most disturbing things we’ve done. Matt was game. He likes to do the opposite of what he has done. It’s a true horror scene. He’d never played anyone like this before.”
According to Spoiler TV, the Matt Bomer episode of American Horror Story: Freak Show is titled “Pink Cupcakes.” In addition to Bomer’s mysterious storyline, it will focus on Emma Roberts’ fortune teller character Maggie and Denis O’Hare’s Stanley, a “collector of freaks.” The duo will hatch a plan to murder the performers in Jessica Lange’s freak show. Apparently Stanley prefers his freaks stuffed and displayed like the taxidermy trophies hunters use to decorate their homes.
“Pink Cupcakes” will also focus on Angela Bassett’s three-breasted character, Desiree Dupree. In a video preview for American Horror Story: Freak Show, she claims that she’s a hermaphrodite, which is someone who has both male and female genitalia. However, the episode description says she might be wrong.
“A health scare reveals Desiree may not be the oddity she once thought.”
The description also reveals that Dandy’s mother will try to hide the evidence of her son’s “gruesome new hobby.” Perhaps it has something to do with his friendship with Twisty the Clown.
Dell Toledo says that Dupree being a hermaphrodite makes him the “happiest man on Earth” in the preview, implying that he likes men and women. This could indicate that Matt Bomer will be playing his lover. Toledo was also once married to Kathy Bates’ bearded lady, another freak show performer with male and female traits, so Toledo could have a very specific fetish. If Matt is playing his lover, he could star as a similar character, such as a “half and half.” This is a performer who dresses up one half of their body as a woman and the other half as a man.
E! News revealed that “A Creature With a Foot-Penis Is Coming” is coming to the show, so could this be Matt Bomer’s character? And what does this mean? Does the “creature” have a foot where his penis should be, a penis that simply resembles a foot, or a penis growing out of his foot?
