Princess Kate Very Sick, Pregnancy Problems Force Duchess of Cambridge To Cancel Another Appearance
Kate Middleton is having a rough time with her second pregnancy, forcing her to cancel more appearances due to severe morning sickness. The Daily Express reports that the Duchess of Cambridge has backed out of a visit to England’s south coast, where she was to visit Sir Ben Ainslie’s America’s Cup team base. The event, scheduled for October 13, was reportedly a special one for Kate, an avid sailor who helped launch Ainslie’s American Cup bid last June.
Shortly after Clarence House shared the news last month that Kate Middleton and Prince William are expecting baby number two, the Prince of Wales’ official website reported Kate is suffering from an extreme form of morning sickness, the same condition that she had when she was pregnant with Prince George. The Independent reports that the Duchess of Cambridge has been under a doctor’s care for Hyperemesis Gravidarum, an illness that has prevented her from attending many scheduled events.
Kate is reportedly due at the end of April 2015, and is still in the first trimester of pregnancy. Hopefully her second trimester will be easier for her. People Magazine reports that officials at the palace are keeping a close eye on Princess Kate, and are trying to assess what she will be able to do over the next few weeks.

While there is no formal comment from the royals, a spokeswoman states that Kate’s activities are being monitored on a “day-by-day basis” to determine when Kate will be able to make public appearances. When she was pregnant with Prince George, she was healthy enough to start making appearances at about the 13-week mark. Hopefully this will ring true for pregnancy number two, because Marie Clare is reporting that the royal couple may travel to NYC to visit in November.
Kate Middleton hasn’t been seen in public since the palace announced her pregnancy in September. The Duchess is reportedly staying with her parents in Bucklebury during her illness. A family friend tells People that Kate is happy to just “sit and relax on the sofa” at home instead of dealing with “the staff and everything else that comes with a big palace full of rooms.”

While Princess Kate relaxes at home with her family, she has plenty of time to come up with names for the new royal baby with her husband, Prince William. Rumors that the Duke and Duchess of York may name their child after William’s mother, the late Lady Diana, have been circulating online, but the couple still does not know if they are having a boy or a girl.
There is absolutely no confirmation from the couple as to what names they are considering for their second child. Royal baby bump watchers can expect to find out the baby’s gender and name after Kate gives birth.
