Campus Reform went to the Harvard University campus to ask students a simple question. “What is a bigger threat to world peace — America or ISIS?” The answers may surprise you.
The students presented in the YouTube video all agreed that the United States was a bigger threat. However, they all cited different reasons. Reasons varied from “American imperialism” to our “skewed view” of ISIS. One female student pointed out that America’s “protection of oil interests” has lead to destabilization of the area and paved the way for groups such as ISIS to thrive in the region .
A male student interviewed said that he doesn’t think anyone would deny that America created the problem.
“I don’t think anyone would argue that we didn’t create the problem of ISIS ourselves.”
Another student pointed out that she thought America was a bigger threat to world peace simply because our actions are more likely to affect the world as a whole.
Many of those commenting on the YouTube video don’t seem to share the same opinion. Some are questioning what exactly is being taught at Harvard, one of the United States’ most prestigious institutes.
Russ Revell ,a YouTube user who commented on the post, said the students in the video are well-spoken but may not fully have a complete understanding of the world.
“They all have very good vocabularies, unfortunately their understanding of the world has been corrupted by progressive ideas and professors with their own socialist agenda.”
What do you think? What is a bigger threat to world peace — America or ISIS? Do you agree with the Harvard students?
