Sarah Danielle Madison Dead: ‘7th Heaven’ Family Faces More Tragedy

It’s more devastation for the 7th Heaven family. Actress Sarah Danielle Madison (legal name: Sarah Goldberg) has died. According to InTouch Weekly, the 40-year-old actress was “found dead” at a Wisconsin home owned by her family. Although quite young, early reports indicate that Sarah died of natural causes.

“She went to sleep and didn’t wake up,” her mother told the media. An autopsy was conducted but was inconclusive. Doctors suspect that Goldberg had a heart condition that may have been an underlying cause of death. Further testing is expected.

According to Mail Online, Goldberg’s family had wonderful things to say about the actress in her obituary.

“In her obituary, Miss Goldberg was described as someone who loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, waterskiing, fishing and canoeing. She was also devoted to animal rescue. The actress had two dogs, Daisy and Bucket, whom she rescued and who lived with her in Los Angeles.”

News that Sarah Danielle Madison has died comes around the same time that her 7th Heaven co-star, Stephen Collins, confessed to child molestation. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, tapes of Collins admitting to three incidents involving pedophilic behavior were released on Tuesday. Collins admitted to the inappropriate behavior as his estranged wife, Faye Grant, but he did not realize that he was being taped. He is now being investigated by the NYPD.

Collins admitted to exposing himself and having some physical moments of “touching” with children — specifically one 11-year-old girl. Since the news broke, Collins resigned from the Screen Actors Guild and was fired from Ted 2. He has not yet been arrested or charged.

The news about Collins has overshadowed the death of Sarah Danielle Madison, who was actually first reported dead yesterday (though the news was confirmed today). Her funeral has been planned and will be private.

“Her family requested that instead of flowers, donations be sent to the Sarah Goldberg Memorial Fund at PAWS, 1997 N Clybourn Ave, Chicago, IL 60614. She is survived by her parents, Judy and Bill Goldberg, her brother Bradley (Michelle), her niece and her nephew along with many extended family members and close friends.”

Goldberg and Collins worked together on 7th Heaven from 2002 to 2006. Goldberg is also known for her roles in 90210 which she appeared on from 2009 to 2011 (total of six episodes). Since 2011, Goldberg hasn’t done any documented work (via IMDb). It is possible that she was ill during this time, but there hasn’t been any confirmation.
