Teresa Giudice is heading to “camp cupcake!” The Real Housewives Of New Jersey star will more than likely be serving her 15-month prison sentence at a minimum-security facility . Sources tell Radar Online that Teresa will likely be going to Alderson Federal Prison Camp in West Virginia (fun fact, this is the same facility that Martha Stewart was at). While Teresa will be secluded from her family — and from the real world — she will get to do some “fun” things… like take cooking classes or do yoga. Of course she will also have to do manual labor (such as laundry), but that’s not terrible — and that’s not something out of the ordinary for her, either.
“Teresa’s advisors have told her that she will most likely go to Alderson because the other women’s federal prison in Connecticut — Danbury — is transitioning to housing men only. Danbury is much closer to Teresa’s family in nearby New Jersey, but the length of her prison sentence will probably rule it out,” said a source.
Going from Real Housewives to “Camp Cupcake” is going to be an adjustment for Teresa Giudice, but things could certainly be worse. There is one major downside to going to federal prison, however, and that’s the fact that Teresa won’t be able to see her four daughters on a regular basis. However, those around Teresa are trying to make her feel better by emphasizing how different Alderson is from other facilities. And since she has no choice but to do her time, she might want to start counting her blessings now.
Teresa will have to start serving her prison sentence by January of 2015. Judge Esther Salas wanted to be sure that Teresa and Joe could be with their family for the holidays — that was also very lenient. The sooner Teresa goes to prison, the sooner she’s going to finish her time.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr , Teresa will serve her time first. After she completes her sentence, Joe Giudice will head to jail. No word on whether or not he’ll be going to a “Camp Cupcake” for men…
Teresa Giudice was blindsided when Judge Salas sentenced her to prison . Despite her plea deal clearly stating that she could serve up to 27 months, the reality star didn’t understand. According to E! News , Teresa really didn’t think that she would be going to prison, which is what she told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live .
“I didn’t fully understand it. I thought my lawyer was going to fight for me. I mean that’s what lawyers do. I don’t know. That’s why you hire an attorney. You put it in their hands. I mean, whatever they wanted from me—believe me—I followed their direction. Whatever they wanted, I gave them. I’m not trying to hide anything.”
But there’s cooking… and yoga!
