‘The Voice:’ Gwen Stefani’s New Advisor And Her ‘Argument’ With Pharrell

A lot of changes have been made on season 7 of The Voice. Two new judges, Gwen Stefani and Pharrell, have been added to the mix, as well as a few new celebrity advisers; Taylor Swift, and now Gwen Stefani’s husband, Gavin Rossdale!

As the blind auditions ended on Monday on The Voice and the four coaches filled up their teams, they now get to work with their special advisers to help them prepare for the battle rounds. Gwen Stefani was clearly pleased to show off her husband when Rossdale was announced as her personal adviser.

“Keeping it in the family!” Stefani beamed as she introduced the Bush frontman to her team choices. While Gwen picked her husband, Blake Shelton picked fellow country star Little Big Town and Pharrell chose R&B superstar Alicia Keys. Adam Levine went with a legend for his The Voice advisor: Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks.

Though the coaches are known for pulling no punches when arguing with each other on The Voice, (Adam and Blake have been fighting each other for seven seasons now), the niceties between Gwen Stefani and Pharrell became a running gag through last night’s episode according to The Daily Mail.

“They’re gonna fight each other with rainbows and happiness,” Adam Levine joked about Gwen and Pharrell, who are real-life friends. Later, when Pharrell said, “Ladies first,” Blake commented, “And the first handful of cotton candy has been thrown!”

Gwen Stefani’s star is heating back up – (as if it ever cooled off). Not only is she a judge on The Voice, but just last week, she appeared in New York City with her No Doubt bandmates as their appearance at next year’s Rock In Rio festival concert in Las Vegas was announced.

Running May 8th through May 15th on a special, permanent 37 acre festival area being built on the Las Vegas Strip, this is the first time the legendary Rock in Rio festival will be hitting the United States according to Rolling Stone. Besides No Doubt, Taylor Swift, Metallica, Linkin Park, Deftones and John Legend have already been announced as the major acts, with rumors buzzing about Sin City that Bruce Springsteen might be making an appearance as well.

Promoters have already indicated that the first weekend of the festival, May 8th and 9th, 2015, will be geared more towards heavier, rock-orientated acts a-la Metallica and Linkin Park, and the second weekend, May 15th and 16th will be geared towards lighter, more pop-like fare, a-la Taylor Swift and John Legend.

Gwen Stefani’s role as a judge on The View continues tonight on NBC.
