WWE: The Undertaker Vs. Sting At WrestleMania 31 Has Mark Calaway Uninterested?

The WWE match of The Undertaker Vs. Sting at WrestleMania 31 may not happen, according to the latest rumblings to come straight from Mark Calaway’s own mouth. While the quote seems to indicate fighting Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30 was The Undertaker’s “last ride,” there’s also hope for fans since he says “never say never.”

In a related report by The Inquisitr , while it’s always difficult to decipher the musings by the eater of worlds, WWE superstar Bray Wyatt seemed to be hinting in a Twitter post that he might be taking on Sting, who was referenced as “the scorpion.”

We also know that Sting is all but scheduled for a WWE match, but we did not have any idea when it might happen. That is, until Sting himself dropped this obvious little hint on Facebook , saying, “New York next month. Event bigger news on the horizon.”

In this case, next month refers to The Big Event Seven being held on November 8, 2014 at Laguardia Plaza Hotel. While it may be jumping to conclusions, the only “bigger news” that seems logical is a WWE match, but it’s still an open question on which wrestler that will be, or if “on the horizon” means a closer PPV event like Royal Rumble 2015.

We do know that if Sting has any choice in the matter, then The Undertaker Vs. Sting at WrestleMania 31 will happen.

“You know, I can’t imagine ‘Taker leaving or being done, I just cannot imagine that. I don’t know what’s going on with him for sure but man, I think ‘Taker vs. Sting doesn’t need a streak storyline; we just need ‘Taker and Sting and that’s it.”

The WWE is also already advertising The Undertaker for WrestleMania 31 on the side of their touring bus, but it’s still possible it won’t happen based upon the current health of Mark Calaway . The Undertaker did admit that his injuries from Brock Lesnar were so severe that he doesn’t recall the details of the match. We also know that rock band Limp Bizkit, who are personal friends with Calaway, indicated that The Undertaker’s health was suffering, but then his wife, Michelle McCool, attempted to dispel any WWE rumors by claiming that all was “good in the hood.” Calaway and his family also attended a short marathon, where he told fans he had “certainly not ruled out” competing at WrestleMania 31 .

The latest rumors come from a variety of Twitter users attending Comic Con in Austin, Texas. The Undertaker apparently told several fans that he does not even plan to attend WrestleMania 31, never mind actually wrestling. But he also added the caveat that he can “never say never,” so it’s possible he’s just teasing the WWE Universe.

Fans also asked about Sting Vs. The Undertaker, and surprisingly Calaway does not seem to be sold on the possibility of a match. According to Twitter user IronSheik84, Calaway simply shrugged and said he did not have any thoughts one way or the other about the possibility of the match.

Of course, not giving a straight answer does not necessarily mean The Undertaker is uninterested per se. Mark Calaway could be simply obeying the terms of a WWE non-disclosure agreement. But another WWE fan named Eric Gutie indicated the going belief among those who attended Comic Con seemed to be that The Undertaker was done with wrestling.
