The world is already working itself up into a panic over the “indisputable proof” that Yetis exist. And now this. Cyclops sharks!
The cyclops shark was discovered inside the belly of a pregnant mama dusky shark by commercial fishermen in California. Although experts were initially skeptical of the cyclops shark, reports are now surfacing that the one-eyed shark is actually real.
Here’s a video of the strange shark.
Shark expert Felipe Galvan Magana of Mexico’s Centro Interdisciplinario de Ciencias del Mar said:
“This is extremely rare. As far as I know, less than 50 examples of an abnormality like this have been recorded.”
According to Live Science, various shark researchers have examined the preserved shark. Experts report that the single eye is made up of functional eye tissue. They did say, however, that the cyclops shark probably wouldn’t have survived outside of the womb.
They cyclops shark has been around since the Summer when it was put onto the Pisces Fleet fishing blog. Of course, the creature was treated like a hoax and quickly dismissed as a photoshop job.
But cyclopia exists, and apparently, so does the cyclops shark.
LiveScience points out a few examples of cyclopia, like a baby girl born in Israel in 1982 and a kitten born with one eye in 2006. In both cases, they died almost immediately after birth.
If the cyclops shark is real, maybe the yeti and the kraken are real too. What do you think?
