Justin Bieber And Chanel’s Karl Lagerfeld Are Collaborating On A Secret Project
Justin Bieber and Chanel’s Karl Lagerfeld in the same sentence twice in one week! Chic alors!
Which is our segue into easily the most interesting thing to come out of the Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez and Kendall Jenner Paris Fashion week story.
To cut to it, after Bieber met Chanel designer and weird but legendary Karl Lagerfeld at a celebrity and fashionista stuffed party on Tuesday, the unlikely couple have been hanging out.
In fact, they got busy. Justin did a photo shoot with Karl on Thursday, which seems to be the start of a secret project.
“Big things coming with my friend @KarlLagerfeld,” Justin wrote next to his latest (at press time) Instagram.
The 20-year-old’s singer’s collage post is a fashion meets pop culture wet dream.
In two of the pics, Bieber — shirtless, naturally — is doing things with his hair.
Another reveals the “Confident” superstar in a white toweling robe looking reflective off-camera, while Karl does his best Bond villain impression.
And the last? The ice that is Lagerfeld looks positively chirpy with Justin’s arm around his shoulder. Just like two guys in a bar. A select bar, granted. But you get the point. They got on.
Which bodes well for more Justin Bieber and Karl Lagerfeld in the future, if that’s on the cards.
With no news forthcoming on the Calvin Klein Underwear campaign front, even after (or perhaps, especially after) the Canadian’s strip at Fashion Rocks last month, if “big things” — as in more than just one photo shoot and working with Chanel — are in the works, that trumps a CK contract.
Here’s a little taste.
In the shot above, the infamous Chanel Kaiser looks as if he got totally into working the lens in that moment.
Lagerfeld is known to be skilled photographer, although it’s not known if he shot the whole shoot. But it could be a sign of good things to come that the iconic designer took a hands-on approach and tried to capture something in the Biebs.
It will be interesting to see the results of Karl’s collaboration with Justin.
Meanwhile, the singer is still sampling the City of Light’s delights even after his face-off with paparazzi on Tuesday after dining with Kendall.
According to multi-millionaire “NBA superfan” James F. Goldstein’s Instagram, the singer rolled up to the opening of the L’Arc Nightclub on Thursday night.
Frankly, we’re dying to know. Was Bieber working on a magazine cover, testing for some new fragrance promotion or for a future Chanel campaign with Lagerfeld?
To borrow Gwyneth Paltrow’s recent turn of phrase, “He could do worse.”
