Raven Symone Disses Former Roommate Lindsay Lohan
Raven Symone had all the ingredients for being a child actress turned troubled star, but Symone steered clear of the lime light and has managed to avoid the pitfalls that Hollywood offers to children actors. To explain how she persevered, she opened up on Oprah’s Where Are They Now? show.
According to Jezebel, while explaining how she avoided trouble, Symone, who was former roommates with troubled star Lindsay Lohan, took a mild swipe at the Parent Trap star.
“Seeing all the child stars going off the edge, what I’ve learned [is] it’s unnecessary to go to the most popular restaurant in the world when you have a scandal on your head and then get mad that someone’s going to take a picture of you. That’s your fault boo boo. Stay in the house.”
So how is this a swipe at Lindsay Lohan? With Lohan being her former roommate, it’s easy to deduce that Raven is well aware of the problems that have followed Lindsay over the years. Heck, it’s easy for anyone with a TV to follow the ongoing saga of Lindsay Lohan’s life. The actress has been in and out of rehab several times, has been under house arrest, and is known for partying it up and placing the blame for her troubles on the media. Sounds like Raven knew exactly who she was shaming when she opened up on Oprah’s show.
Not only that, but just a few months ago, Lohan had her own docu-series on OWN which featured the star not following the rules that OWN put in place, which included canceling filming days, sleeping in all day and not showing up to engagements on time. It got so bad that Oprah had to show up at Lohan’s mother’s home in Long Island to set her straight.
That said, Raven and Lindsay weren’t bffs, so this won’t be too much of a betrayal. Back in 2008, during Essence’s Black Women in Hollywood luncheon, Raven explained to US Weekly about the former living arrangement.
“She paid rent, and she was there probably three times. She had her clothes in the apartment we were supposed to live in together. I really need to squash these rumors because this was when I was 17!”
Looks like even back then, she didn’t want to be associated with Lohan. We don’t really blame her as it looks like she had her life in order even then.
