Two Louisiana Teachers Accused Of Having A Threesome With Teenage Student

Two Louisiana high school teachers are accused of having sex with a teenage student.

WGNO reports that authorities say Shelley Dufresne, 32, and Rachel Respess, 24, had a threesome with a 16-year-old male student. The alleged incident happened at Respess’ home after a football game. Police said the student was a junior and said they are looking into the possibility that he videotaped or took pictures of the encounter.

According to police, both teachers have had the student in their classroom. Respess was the student’s English teacher last year, while Dufresne was his current English teacher. The pair of teachers are said to have been friends.

According to ABC News, the student is now 17, the legal age of consent in Louisiana. However, the sexual encounter reportedly occurred when the student was only 16-years-old. Police say the student, who was 16 at the time, went to one of the teacher’s apartments after a football game on September 12. The police report says the student then began having sex with both teachers simultaneously until the early morning hours of the 13.

The Times-Picayune reports police learned about the crime after the student was heard “bragging to other students that he was having a sexual relationship with teachers.” WGNO reports that the student told his peers he had met the teachers multiple times and even documented some of their encounters on video.

Detectives say the student, who is now 17, told them his ongoing sexual relationship with the teachers was consensual. However, Kenner Police Chief Michael Glaser says that the teachers “should have known better” and he hopes the students age and gender do not allow the teachers to get off more lightly.

“No matter what sex the victim is, everyone should be outraged. You have an educator. Their responsibility is the safety and the education of children…. They should have known better.”

Dufresne is reportedly married with three children. The incident has lead both teachers to face felony charges. The charges include carnal knowledge of a juvenile, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and indecent behavior with a juvenile.
