Jenna Elfman Joins Forces Once Again With 20th Century Fox TV
Jenna Elfman has officially signed a deal with the folks over at 20th Century Fox TV to bring her talents back to the small screen.
The actress, who is perhaps best known for her role on the sitcom Dharma and Greg, will join forces with a writer to craft a brand new series for the studio. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project will also find Elfman serving as the show’s producer and star. However, she hasn’t located a collaborator as of this writing.
Jenna Elfman and the boys and girls over at 20th Century Fox TV previously worked together on her breakthrough sitcom Dharma and Greg. Although Elfman tried her hand at other small-screen endeavors, nothing has matched the success of D&G. Courting Alex, Accidentally on Purpose, 1600 Penn, and Growing Up Fisher were all short-lived affairs, and Elfman has yet to find a movie that makes proper use of her skills.
However, Fox’s Sharon Klein believes they can make lightning strike twice with Jenna Elfman. Not surprisingly, she had nothing but positive things to say about Elfman in a recent press release. You can check out her kind words below.
“She is both a brilliant comedic leading lady and a stunning dramatic actress; she quite frankly can do everything. Audiences love her and so do we, as our relationship spans from Dharma all the way to 1600 Penn. We could not be more excited to be back in business developing something just for her.”
During her chat with The Star, Jenna explained that she’s definitely paid her dues when it comes to finding success in Hollywood. Instead of jumping directly into a popular money-making venture, Elfman said she made ends meet by essentially working two jobs.
“I mainly was able to pay my bills doing commercials and every now and then I’d have to go stuff some envelopes for some extra cash, or I’d made some jewelry just to get gas money to get to acting class. That was fun.
“I definitely worked from the bottom and I think that’s given me confidence in my career because if it all went away I’ve done it once, I could do it again. So I’ve never been afraid of failing because I’ve already proved myself. I can work hard and create a career for myself. I’ve had stress definitely, but not fear.”
Jenna Elfman’s recent development deal with 20th Century Fox isn’t the only reason the actress is celebrating these days. According to The Courier-Journal, Elfman recently celebrated her 43rd birthday on September 30. Other famous faces who also celebrated their latest trip around the sun alongside the actress include Fran Drescher (57), Lacey Chabert (32), Eric Stoltz (53), and Brady Bunch star Barry Williams (60).
