The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Jacqueline Laurita has never really spoken about her personal finances on television the way that Teresa Giudice has. Even though there have been several reports in the press about Jacqueline and her husband, Chris Laurita, she has never confirmed or denied any of the reports.
Jacqueline Laurita and her husband were listed as people who owed money to the IRS. Chris, who once ran a successful clothing company named Signature Apparel, was rumored to spend the money on himself by hiring private planes, renting a yacht and spending the money irresponsibly. Now, the couple has been working on settling their debt, but it comes with a hefty price tag.
According to a new Examiner report, The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Jacqueline Laurita and her husband will still have to fork over $1 million in debt to the IRS. The couple had a big lawsuit against them earlier this year. They were being sued for $8 million. Jacqueline and her husband recently came to an agreement that would require them to pay $1 million of the $8 million that they owe.
The judge will have to sign the agreement to make it valid, but once it has a signature, the couple will have to hand over $100,000 immediately, followed by several additional pricey payments. On The Real Housewives of New Jersey , Jacqueline Laurita has revealed that her son’s autism treatment programs are expensive so this could have been the reason why they are offering installments.
Jacqueline and her husband willingly came to the agreement so they could pay off their debt. They will have to make installment payments of at least $100,000 over the next couple of months until the $1 million has been paid off completely. It is uncertain how the couple will do this.
Perhaps, this legal issue is why Jacqueline Laurita has returned to The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Rumor has it that Jacqueline returned because the ratings were low and she returned with a bang. In her first scene, Jacqueline texted Teresa Giudice about her guilty plea while hanging out with Teresa’s cousin, Kathy Wakile.
According to The Inquisitr , Jacqueline Laurita was brought back to the show because of ratings drop, but it is definitely possible that she returned to film the show so she could afford the treatments for her son Nicholas. They need the money, but they haven’t openly said that.
Are you surprised that Jacqueline Laurita is still battling the million-dollar lawsuit against them? Do you think the judge will sign off on such a large cut of their debt?
