Josh Hutcherson Says He Was Seduced By Benicio Del Toro, Is Probably Dating Claudia Traisac
Josh Hutcherson looked pretty cozy with Claudia Traisac at the Zurich Film Festival premiere of Escobar: Paradise Lost.
According to The Daily Mail, Hutcherson was photographed with his arm around Claudia’s waist, and the couple was also spotted getting cozy in the car that brought them to the event. The Daily Mail claims that Josh Hutcherson and Claudia Traisac have yet to confirm their relationship, but Josh certainly made it sound like he’s serious with his costar during an interview with Glamour. Last October the magazine asked the Mockingjay star how he felt about dating Vanessa Hudgens look-alike Claudia.
“As far as I’m concerned, you’re both actors, you understand each other’s lifestyle, so it’s a very natural thing to have happen.”
If Hutcherson and Traisac are still going strong, they’ve been together for well over a year. That’s a decade in Hollywood relationship years.
Josh Hutcherson and Claudia Traisac play lovers in Escobar: Paradise Lost, so this probably made it easier for them to connect off-set. Josh might be in love with Claudia, but he says that he was also seduced by another costar: actor Benicio Del Toro.
Del Toro plays cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar, and Traisac stars as his niece. Hutcherson’s character is a Canadian surfer named Nick who falls for the girl while staying in Colombia with his older brother. This is how he gets drawn into Escobar’s world.
During the Zurich Film Festival press conference for Escobar: Paradise Lost, Josh admitted that he was nervous about working with Benicio even though he’s met him before. According to Hutcherson, getting to know the actor on a personal level made his acting job easier.
“Nick can’t see that Pablo’s a bad guy in the beginning. He gets lured in; he gets seduced. And I think that knowing Benicio personally helped him seduce me.”
Indiewire reports that Del Toro also talked about Pablo Escobar’s ability to seduce people.
“The movie makes it clear: there were two faces to Escobar. There was a family man, the man that could seduce a whole country. And at the same, he brings it down. He became a false hero, a Robin Hood, to a whole country, but at the same time he bled it out.”
According to Vulture, fans of The Hunger Games actually might want to check out Josh Hutcherson’s latest project. Anna Silman writes that Peeta the bread boy and Nick the surfer “might as well be twins.” Nick falls in love with a girl and this romance puts his life in danger, “he’s pulled from his humble life into an unfamiliar world of pageantry and excess,” he’s seduced by an evil leader, a lot of people lose their lives because of him, and he spends a lot of time running through a jungle.
However, there’s one big difference between The Hunger Games movies and Escobar: Paradise Lost — this time Josh Hutcherson also got the girl in real life.
