A 3-year-old boy from Brazil known as Misael weighs 154 pounds…and he cannot stop eating. According to Mail Online, the toddler was born a healthy 6lbs, 6oz, but suffers from a rare disorder that causes him to be hungry all the time. Prader–Willi syndrome is a rare genetic disease that causes a person to constantly be hungry. It makes someone almost obsessed with food, as they want to be eating something all the time, never feeling satisfied or full.

Of course, not being able to control this strong desire can result in many serious medical issues. For instance, Misael is having trouble walking due to his large size. He also suffers from under-active thyroid, but it’s unknown if that condition is related to the Prader-Willi syndrome. In addition, Misael also has behavioral issues, which make it harder for his parents to try and curb his appetite.

The 3-year-old child eats six times more than the average kid his age. His father says that his son’s condition is difficult on many levels, and it’s embarrassing to even leave the house — which is a chore in and of itself.

“Even taking him to the doctor or leaving the house with him is difficult. And when we walk down the street, people stop, want to take pictures with him, people say that they never saw [a boy] this size, people want to know how old he is, how much he weighs…”

Although this child might be suffering from a rare disorder, there are other overweight children who eat in excess because they can. Many are quick to point fingers in these instances and parents are often blamed. According to Huffington Post, there are many ways that parents can help their overweight children. Increasing exercise and reducing temptation are just two ways that parents can ensure that their kids are staying healthy.

Obesity is a problem in the world in general. In a related report by The Inquisitr, it is believed that 42% of Americans will be considered obese by the year 2030.

“That’s roughly an additional 32 million Americans who will become obese in the next 18-years. Not only that, the proportion of severely obese Americans will reach roughly double the current rate, reaching an astounding 11%.”

Of course, it’s one thing to overeat on a regular basis and it’s another to have a genetic condition that makes you feel hungry all the time. What do you think of the overweight 3-year-old?
