Lady Gaga ‘Practices Love’ At Concert [Video]
Lady Gaga is known for her music, her fashion and her completely insane performances. As much as the obvious, though, Lady Gaga is also known to be an advocate for love, peace and harmony.
In Belgium for her artRAVE Tour earlier this week, Lady Gaga was hyping up the crowd and parading around the stage in her rainbow-colored costume. At one point, she tossed a piece of the costume into the crowd, offering it to her fans as a souvenir. Unfortunately, a couple of those fans began to fight over it.
When Lady Gaga realized what was happening, she showed her little monsters exactly why she deserves the nickname “Mother Monster.” She stopped what she was doing, and scolded them.
“Careful, don’t fight,” Lady Gaga addressed the fighting fans directly.
When the fans didn’t immediately calm down, Lady Gaga demanded that they give back the keepsake, “If you’re gonna fight, you don’t get to keep it.”
It’s apparent in the video that the fans aren’t aware that she’s being serious, at first. When realization dawns on them that the show is not going to continue until they do, the costume piece is passed back to the stage.
Lady Gaga took the item back and made her way over to a back-up dancer, wrapping it loosely around his neck.
She added, “here, we practice love.”
Lady Gaga’s statement on practicing love was responded to with a roar of approval from the crowd. The approval grew louder when she returned to the fighting fans, leaned over and blew them a kiss.
“And don’t worry, I still love you.” Lady Gaga announced before she jumped back into the concert.
Breaking up a fight was not the only thing Lady Gaga hit the news for while she was in Belgium. It was the only place that she was able to meet with Tony Bennett in order to launch their new duet album.
Cheek to Cheek is a collection of jazzy covers such as: “Anything Goes,” “Let’s Face the Music and Dance,” and “Sophisticated Lady.” The deluxe edition of the album includes 12 other songs.
“I wanted to do something different with Tony than he’d ever done before, with any other jazz singer,” Lady Gaga said.
“It’s wonderful,” added Tony Bennett. “She has the gift – the gift of improvisation. And she just does it naturally. And it’s something you can’t go to school and learn how to do… She intuitively rephrases a song to make it even more believable than when it was originally written.”
According to Lady Gaga, Cheek to Cheek came at a good time for her and helped her get in touch with herself again.
“Gosh, it’s taught me so much,” Lady Gaga stated. “And more than teaching me, it’s made me myself again. I got really lost for a little while. I felt like I didn’t even know who I was any more. And with Tony I found that boxer, that fighter within me who was ready to take on the world.”
Some fights don’t need to be broken up.
