Meg Ryan, John Mellencamp To Reconcile? Singer Indicates Door May Be Open To Reunite With Actress

Could Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp rekindle their romance after a recent split? It is definitely sounding that way. Though both Meg and John typically are very private about their personal lives, the singer is talking a bit about the relationship, and the door seems as if it may be a wee bit open to a reconciliation.

Mellencamp has been doing some media to promote his new album Plain Spoken. In the midst of the new interviews, he has said that he is open to the possibility of getting back together with Ryan. Though she hasn’t said anything publicly, at least not yet, it seems that there may be hope for fans who would love to see them back together again.

E! Online shares that during one interview on Today, John said, “Meg’s an angel. She’s an angel sent to me, and I’m very happy. And, you know, nothing’s over ’til it’s over.”

Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp dated for more than three years before splitting in August. E! Online notes that John indicated during a chat with Howard Stern on his SiriusXM show that as many had suspected, it seems that the geographical distance between them became an issue they could no longer overcome.

While Ryan is based in New York City, Mellencamp isn’t a big fan of the hustle and bustle of that particularly large city. He prefers Indiana, and also has a home in South Carolina. While the singer may be open and interested in a reunion with the actress, it seems likely the distance will always be an issue.

Mellencamp said that he’s too sensitive to live in New York City, and he figures he will ultimately die in Indiana. At the same time, people can’t quite imagine Ryan being willing to move herself and her young daughter to Indiana. From the sounds of things, if Meg and John were to give their romance another go, it would continue to be a long-distance one.

Despite the geographical challenges, it seems pretty clear that the singer still carries a torch for the actress. As Us Weekly notes, Mellencamp said that he knows he will “never, ever, ever be with a funnier girl than her.” He added that he was grateful for the time they were together.

The news of the Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp split shocked some fans, and many love the idea that there may still be hope that the two will reunite.
