August Alsina Released From Hospital — But Not Before Nicki Minaj Came To Visit

August Alsina was recently released from the hospital, but before he went home, he received a visit from his good friend, rapper Nicki Minaj.

“Healthy enough to b Discharged from the hospital today,” Alsina announced on Twitter on September 23. “Scariest time of my life.. but im a soulja & so is God. Thank you for your prayers.”

One day prior, Nicki Minaj, who he worked with Alsina on “No Love,” came to visit. “August, u know, I’m here to save u,” Minaj wrote on Instagram, along with a photo of herself and Alsina. “Still praying for my lil bro. He’s doing better.”

On September 15, during a performance at the Irving Plaza in downtown Manhattan, Alsina appeared to faint. As he walked toward the front of the stage, the singer fell over into the crowd. Witnesses told TMZ Alsina was “out cold” when security guards arrived at where he fell and immediately carried him backstage. After paramedics arrived to the scene, Alsina was taken out on a stretcher.

The next day, August Alsina’s rep confirmed he had suffered from “multiple seizures” after his on-stage fall.

“August is in the ICU of a New York City hospital and receiving treatment for the seizures,” TMZ reported on September 16. “The rep says doctors did not find any drugs — other than marijuana — in Alsina’s system… and at this point they believe the fainting was brought on by exhaustion and dehydration.”

After being discharged on Monday, August Alsina took to his Instagram page, where he shared a heartfelt message with fans.

“Recovery, it’s a process,” Alsina wrote on September 23. “I woke from a coma.. God gave me a second chance at life & I’d like to thank each and every person that sent any form and expression of love thru gift, card, flowers or simply your kind words and prayers. I’m a hustler, I’m a worker, I overwork myself at times but I’m a survivor and still here by the grace of God and your prayers. #AlsinaNation #Squadd We still here & time to go harder!”

At this year’s BET Awards, August Alsina took home two awards, one for Best New Artist, and a second for his hit, “I Luv This S**t” featuring Trinidad James. The following month, he was accused of injuring a groupie during a sexual encounter. However, nothing ever came of the woman’s allegations, and Alsina later denied having done anything to cause her harm.
