Female Human Rights Lawyer Executed For ‘Apostasy’ By Islamic State

Islamic State has been the prefix that describes a multitude of groups. Originally, the only Islamic terrorists group America knew of was Al-Qaeda. Since, 9/11 and the War On Terror, we have come to know multiple Islamic terror groups.

It seems every region has an “Al-” prefixed group. The Islamic state has most commonly been known as ISIS or ISIL, but it has been attached to any Islamic terrorist group throughout the Middle East.

The Islamic state in all forms have been capturing and beheading various journalists, Christians, and even some of their own people. Breitbart News reported Thursday that a Iraqi human rights lawyer and activist was tortured and publicly executed in Mosul for alleged “Apostasy”.

According to the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq, al-Nuaimi was tried in a so-called ‘Sharia court’ for apostasy, after which she was tortured for five days before the militants sentenced her to ‘public execution.’

Typically, the charge of “Apostasy” is given to those who change from Islam to any non-Islamic religion, but in the case of Samira Salih al-Nuaimi, it was even more trivial. The Islamic state charged her with the crime because of “Facebook messages she posted that were critical of the militants’ destruction of religious sites in Mosul”, according to Huffington Post. Her Facebook page has been taken down, but no word on when or by whom.

Further reporting by Huffington Post stated that she was first captured and taken to a secret location, then she was tried by a “Sharia Court” and summarily executed.

“newly declared police force seized Samira Salih al-Nuaimi last week in a northeastern district of the Mosul while she was home with her husband and three children. Al-Nuaimi was taken to a secret location. After about five days, the family was called by the morgue to retrieve her corpse, which bore signs of torture.”

Mosul, which has been under the umbrella of the Islamic state, fell to ISIS insurgants in June. The Iraqi city of Mosul was the largest city to be seized and put under the banner of the Islamic state.

It was the seizure of Mosul, and increased number American beheadings that seem to prompt the U.S. and the alliance of United Arab Emirates(UAE), Jordan, Qatar, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia to conduct airstrikes against ISIS. The Inquisitr reported on the airstrikes in Syria that was the site of the “first UAE woman pilot” to lead the airstrikes.

This lead to ISIS warning of retaliation on U.S. and Western allies. The Iraqi PM warned at the United Nations Thursday, that U.S. and France subways were part of a plot by the Islamic state to retaliate.
