Kim Kardashian Wedding Special Scores Big Ratings
Kim Kardashian’s latest vehicle has pulled in some eye-popping viewing figures for the folks at E! Entertainment. A press release from the channel reveals that the Sunday episode of Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event is No. 3 on E!’s all-time most-watched list.
Kim’s Fairytale Wedding covers, as you might have guessed, the universe-shattering cultural event of the century that is Kardashian’s marriage to basketball player Kris Humphries.
One two-hour episode was clearly not enough to do such an event justice, so E! commissioned two parts, and aired them to Kardashian-hungry viewers on Sunday and Monday night. An average of 4.4 million total viewers watched Sunday’s installment, while Monday’s second chapter pulled in 4 million, according to Nielsen.
Those numbers have somehow become a “record-breaking crowd” of 10.5 million in E!’s press release about the show, despite only adding up to, er, 8.4 million, but still, the point is: those numbers are absurdly big for a channel like E!, and also possibly a sign of the end times, I dunno.
However, such figures should not be a surprise. While Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event is third on E!’s all-time most-watched list, last year’s Season 4 finale of Keeping Up With the Kardashians is top with 4.8 million viewers, confirming once and for all that E! viewers will be first against the wall when revolution comes.
So, did anyone here watch Kardashian’s wedding thing?
