Paulina Gretzky Pregnant: The ‘Great One’ To Become A Granddad

Paulina Gretzky is having a baby.

The daughter of hockey great Wayne Gretzky made the announcement on Instagram on Tuesday.

In the photo, Paulina is cradling her baby bump and looking downward. She captioned the picture, “[Fiance Dustin Johnston] and I are so excited to finally share with you all our amazing news..we’re having a baby!.”

This would be the couple’s first child.

As reported in The Inquisitr, Paulina and Dustin got engaged in August 2013.

Since then, the young couple have been marred with scandal.

According to E! News, Dustin withdrew from the PGA circuit this July to deal with health problems.

“By committing the time and resources necessary to improve my mental health, physical well-being and emotional foundation, I am confident that I will be better equipped to fulfill my potential and become a consistent champion. I respectfully ask my fans, well-wishers and the media for privacy as I embark upon this mission of self-improvement.”

The 30-year-old has reportedly been battling a drug problem. Golf.com reports that Dustin failed drug tests in 2009, 2012, and 2014 after testing positive for marijuana and cocaine.

Despite the drug allegations, Johnson has the support of his soon-to-be father-in-law, Wayne Gretzky. According to the Sun, The National Hockey League great made the comments on a Canadian sports radio station.

“Obviously life isn’t perfect and he went through a tough time. sometimes we forget that even athletes are human and there’s bumps in the road, and most importantly he’s a wonderful person with a good heart and we care about him. He’s our future son-in-law and we love him dearly.”

Over the years, Paulina’s modeling career has also been controversial. In April 2014, a sexy photo shoot for Golf Digest magazine drew the ire of female golfers.

“It’s the state of where we’ve always been. We don’t get the respect for being the golfers we are,” golfer Stacy Lewis told USA Today. “Obviously, Golf Digest is trying to sell magazines, but at the same time you like to see a little respect for the women’s game.”

According to the report, a female golfer has not appeared on the cover of Golf Digest since 2008.

It seems that Paulina has given up on the racy photo shoots for now. As the Washington Post notes, the 25-year-old’s Instagram profile has become more subdued during her pregnancy.

With modelling and golf out of the picture for Paulina and Dustin respectively, maybe the couple will have more time to spend together.
