Emma Watson Nude Photos: Hackers Start Countdown To Release Of Images
Emma Watson has become the latest celebrity to be targeted by hackers after a group of online miscreants started a countdown until the release of naked images of the actress.
Over the last few weeks the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Kaley Cuoco, Vanessa Hudgens, and Amber Heard have each had their privacy violated by online terrorists who were able to gain access to their iCloud and then peruse through and upload their intimate images. Now Watson has become their latest target, and, according to the Daily Star, a website has been found that displays Emma’s face and is then set next to a digital clock that is now counting down.
It’s now been reported that the hackers, who are completely focused on revealing further naked pictures of celebrities, are currently in possession of nude photos of Emma, and they are set to share them with the world in around four days time.
After Lawrence became the first celebrity to be abused by this hacking, Watson took to her Twitter account to protest such an immense violation of her friend. “Even worse than seeing women’s privacy violated on social media is reading the accompanying comments that show such a lack of empathy,” wrote the actress on Twitter.
Watson, who is famously known for playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series, then followed up this statement by speaking at New York’s United Nations headquarters about gender inequalities, which she feels is still prevalent across the globe.
“I decided that I was a feminist. And this seems uncomplicated to me. But my recent research has shown me that feminism has become an unpopular word. Women are choosing not to identify as feminists. Apparently, I am among the ranks of women whose expressions are seen as too strong, ‘too aggressive,’ isolating and anti-men, unattractive, even. Why has the word become such an uncomfortable one?”
Watson also went on to proclaim that she wants to erase the “us vs. them” mentality that is usually associated with gender battles, and she declared that feminism is actually the belief that men and women are equal.
“It is time that we all see gender as a spectrum instead of two sets of opposing ideals. We should stop defining each other by what we are not and start defining ourselves by who we are. We can all be freer and this is what HeForShe is about. It’s about freedom.”
