Charlo Greene, aka the “F**k it” reporter, caused a ripple in the news Sunday when she quit on live television, before dropping the F-bomb. It was something that caught even her colleague by surprise. And it turns out that her beef was about marijuana legalization, human rights, and failed policies that deny a marriage between the two.
In the words heard from around the world, Greene delivered her verbal pink slip and simply exited the camera, stage left.
“Now everything you’ve heard is why I, the actual owner of the Alaska Cannabis Club, will be dedicating all of my energy toward fighting for freedom and fairness, which begins with legalizing marijuana. And as for this job…well…not that I have a choice, but f**k it…I quit!”
Thanks to technology and video-file sharing, the footage of the reporter quitting on the air went viral, for obvious reasons. And as expected, viewers created a handle for the former journalist: the f**k it reporter , citing a report by Perez Hilton .
It turns out that Charlo Greene is the president and owner of Alaska Cannabis Club, the state’s “only legal medical marijuana resource,” and she is supposedly on a mission to help legalize marijuana in the entire state and beyond. A crowdfunding project began after the on-air stunt and has already raised thousands of dollars. Greene says she intends to use the funds to help spread awareness about the health benefits of smoking weed. Additionally, she is petitioning voters to use their power to make change at the polls.
However, some are not taking her seriously . Moreover, many are convinced the manner in which Charlo quit on television, especially the use of the F-word, was preplanned and part of an elaborate stunt to bilk money from the public.
Now, the infamous reporter with the f**k it moniker, created a short video (above) and explained that her actions are motivated by matters of human rights. This vulgar-free PSA is quite compelling. Do you agree?
