Terry Bradshaw Leaves Fox NFL Sunday After Death Of Son-In-Law Rob Bironas
Terry Bradshaw left the Fox NFL Sunday coverage after the death of his son-in-law, former Tennessee Titans kicker Rob Bironas.
Bironas was killed in Nashville in an early morning car crash. On Sunday morning, Fox noted that Bradshaw would be leaving the show to be with the family.
“Terry will not appear on today’s edition of FOX NFL SUNDAY,” Fox said in a statement. “He flew to Nashville early this morning to be with his daughter Rachel during this tremendously difficult time. The entire FOX Sports family has Terry, Rachel, the Bironas and Bradshaw families in our thoughts and prayers.”
Bironas married Bradshaw’s daughter, Rachel Bradshaw, back in June.
Details of the crash are still coming into focus, but police said Rob Bironas was traveling in his SUV at a high rate of speed in the 800 block of Battery Lane, which is close to his home in Nashville. Bironas lost control and hit several trees, flipping the car at least one time and coming to rest upside down in a drainage culvert.
Paramedics who responded were able to take Rob Bironas to nearby Vanderbilt Medical Center, but he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police have not released more details on the circumstances of the crash, but said there was no alcohol apparent on the scene.
News of Bironas’ death was released in the early morning hours on Sunday, with family members confirming his death through Bironas’ official Twitter account.
