Ramona Singer Reportedly Quitting ‘Real Housewives Of New York’ Over Demotion
Ramona Singer is reportedly quitting Real Housewives of New York after being knocked out of the full-time cast, meaning fans will not get to see her in a single episode of Season 7.
Bravo had already announced that Singer was demoted to something called “recurring friend,” meaning she would only appear in the background during events or in brief interactions with the full-time cast. Aviva Drescher was also fired from the show, and is instead heading to Los Angeles to film Marriage Boot Camp.
“It’s a good paycheck for easy work for Aviva,” an insider told the New York Daily News. “And she knows how to create good reality TV.”
It appears that Ramona Singer could be now following Aviva out the door. A source told OK! magazine that Ramona was seriously considering quitting.
“She’s still deciding if she wants to come back, given all of the changes in her life and new projects she is working on,” the source said.
Recently Singer had some off-show drama, with her leaving husband Mario Singer after he reportedly having an affair. Ramona didn’t address the issue on the Real Housewives reunion show, but did reveal in a tweet that she was focusing on herself and her daughter.
“After a wonderful week with Avery I am feeling at ease knowing that she is settled in. Thank you for all of your kind words. Happy Friday!!!” she wrote as daughter Avery moved in to college.
“Thanks for being my rock Ramona Singer! Couldn’t have done this without you. Finally moved in. Here we goooo,” Avery tweeted in response.
Ramona Singer herself hasn’t confirmed whether she is quitting Real Housewives of New York. She is the longest running cast member, outlasting all other original members from when the show first aired in 2008.
