UVA Missing Girl: New Clues In Hannah Graham’s Disappearance
Authorities have released new information in the disappearance of a University of Virginia student. Hannah Graham, the missing girl, was reportedly last seen with a black man — who she appeared to know.
An unidentified witness said the man approached Hannah and put his arm around her shoulders. The witness eventually left the area, as it appeared that the man “was either known to Ms. Graham or was trying to help her.”
Authorities have reviewed surveillance footage from numerous locations in and around UVA. Interestingly, the unidentified witness was seen following and approaching the missing girl. However, the black man did not appear in the footage.
When interviewed by police, the witness said he followed Hannah, as she appeared to be in distress. However, she apparently calmed down when she was approached by the black man. The witness said Hannah and the unidentified man were “standing there talking” when he left.
As reportedly by Daily Mail, Hannah Graham vanished Friday evening. Surveillance footage confirms the 18-year-old student left her apartment at approximately 9:30 p.m. She then attended a party with several friends.
According to witness reports, Hannah was “fairly well intoxicated” when she left the party. However, the teen chose to walk home alone.
As seen in the surveillance footage, Hannah walked past McGrady’s Irish Pub at 12:46 a.m. Fewer than 10 minutes later, she was seen running past a Shell gas station. Shortly after 1:00 a.m., she was seen walking through a downtown Charlottesville strip mall.
As reported by My Fox 8, the unidentified witness appeared in the footage at approximately 1:06 a.m. In the film, he is seen watching the UVA student. As the missing girl approaches his location, he appears to duck into a doorway.
After Hannah passes the doorway, the white male can be seen following her through the strip mall.
Approximately 20 minutes later, Hannah sent a text message to a friend — stating that she was lost. She was not seen or heard from again.
Authorities have not released the name of the unidentified witness. It is unclear whether he, or the black man, are considered persons of interest.
Hannah Graham parents are concerned that their daughter may be the victim of a heinous crime. However, authorities said they have no reason to suspect foul play.
Authorities continue to investigate the UVA student’s disappearance. The missing girl’s friends and family are pleading for any information about her movements on Friday evening and Saturday morning.
