New Details On Eric Matthew Frein: ‘Extremely Dangerous’ Cop-Killer ‘Doesn’t Miss’
A clearer picture of accused cop-killer Eric Matthew Frein is emerging as Pennsylvania authorities continue their hunt for the man, described as a “survivalist” who had spoken in the past about committing mass murder.
Frein’s father Michael, who served in the Army for 28 years, has come forward to speak about his son. According to the New York Daily News, Michael Frein claims Eric is a deadly shot who “doesn’t miss.” The family also confirmed that an AK-47 and a.308-caliber rifle with a scope were missing from their home.
It was also reported that Frein, a native of Canadensis, Pennsylvania, is a military re-enactor. Apparently, he has performed in re-enactments dressed as both a World War II-era German soldier and an eastern European soldier from the Cold War-era.
Another member of Frein’s family, his 18-year-old sister Tiffany, also spoke out regarding her brother’s actions, according to NBC News.
“He did something messed up, but he’s still a human and he has feelings…We’re not trying to protect him. He has to suffer the consequences. But he’s still our family.”
As reported by the Inquisitr, last Friday the 31-year-old Frein allegedly went on a sudden rampage, ambushing the Pennsylvania State Police Blooming Grove Barracks around 11 p.m. Reports claim the shooter was using a.308 rifle when he killed 38-year-old Cpl. Bryon Dickson and wounded another trooper, Alex Douglas. Frein has been charged with a number of crimes, including first-degree murder and homicide of a law enforcement officer.
Meanwhile, law enforcement has turned out in force to scour Northeastern Pennsylvania, according to the Huffington Post. This includes sending officers into a heavily forested area where witnesses claim to have seen someone wearing camouflage gear and carrying a weapon. Police are also dealing with a massive influx of tips from frightened
In a statement Wednesday, state police deputy commander of operations Lt. Col. George Bivens released a statement aimed directly at Frein.
“”In the event you are listening to this broadcast on a portable radio while cowering in some cold, damp hiding place, I want you to know one thing. Eric, we are coming for you. It is only a matter of time until we bring you to justice.”
Despite Bivens’ strong words, residents of the state are living with the knowledge that a well-armed man with a possibly delusional mind is roaming free. No one can know for sure what Eric Matthew Frein plans to do next in his personal vendetta against law enforcement.
