Grumpy Cat To Be Voiced By Aubrey Plaza, Wannabe Catwoman And The Fappening Victim
Grumpy Cat will be voiced by Aubrey Plaza, and no casting has ever made more sense. Aubrey and Grumpy go together like peanut butter and chocolate, or Reddit and internet pervs looking for nude photos.
As The Inquisitr previously reported, Aubrey Plaza was a victim of the celebrity nude photo leak dubbed “The Fappening.” The actress never responded to her alleged nude photos being shared on websites like Reddit and 4chan, and it looks like she’s come up with the perfect way to make the internet forget about them: playing a beloved internet character in a Lifetime movie. It was a brilliant move, and Jennifer Lawrence should definitely be taking notes (maybe she can score the lead in the Lil Bub movie).
According to Entertainment Weekly, Aubrey Plaza’s voice will be coming out of Grumpy Cat’s perpetually down-turned mouth in Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever. Apparently Grumpy is a real Scrooge, and the kitty curmudgeon isn’t the only famous feline who isn’t a fan of fa-la-la-la-la-las and decking the halls.
You might look at Aubrey Plaza’s Parks and Recreation costar Nick Offerman and wonder why he wasn’t chosen to voice Grumpy Cat—Ron Swanson does bear a striking resemblance to the kitty, and he shares the famous feline’s demeanor. However, Grumpy is actually a female feline whose real name is Tardar Sauce.
In her upcoming Lifetime movie, Grumpy Cat will play a lonely kitty who can’t find a forever home. However, she finds a friend in a 12-year-old girl named Chrystal. When Chrystal visits the mall pet shop where Grumpy is imprisoned, she discovers that she can communicate with the cat. Chrystal spends her Christmas Eve saving Grumpy after the mall closes.
Aubrey Plaza has had cats on the brain recently. According to the Comic Book blog, she recently expressed an interest in playing Catwoman.
“There’s something so sexy and badass about Catwoman. I just think it’s the ultimate female role. You get to be a woman, but you also can destroy people, and you use all your female energy for evil. I just kind of love that.”
Unfortunately, Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever probably won’t include any killing. Lifetime obviously loves murder (see: most of the network’s other original movies), but this is definitely a family film.
Aubrey also told GQ that she’d like to remake Halle Berry’s terrible Catwoman movie. This is something that Lifetime actually might consider doing.
Plaza doesn’t just love comic book villainesses who love cats. Aubrey recently tweeted her admiration for Draven Rodriguez, a Schenectady High School student who really wanted cats and lasers in his yearbook photo.

As The Inquisitr previously reported, Rodriguez launched a petition to get his school’s permission to use a photo of himself, his cat Mr. Bigglesworth, and a bunch of lasers (the kid is obviously a big Dr. Evil fan) as his yearbook picture. According to New York Magazine, Rodriguez’s request was denied by his school. However, the lucky guy did win the internet by getting a marriage proposal from Aubrey Plaza.
Aubrey also used Twitter to celebrate her Grumpy Cat casting. Shortly after the news of her Lifetime role was announced, the actress tweeted a very appropriate Christmas-themed Grumpy Cat meme.

Hopefully Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever won’t be as cheerless as Aubrey’s tweet.
