Bill Maher’s Secret: True-Believing Troll Has Been Playing Atheists The Entire Time

A new Funny or Die video is poking fun at liberal talk show host Bill Maher’s alleged devout atheism. The video, released on Monday, is titled “Bill Maher’s Dirty Secret.”

In the two-minute short, Maher explains his true beliefs to his friend after he is found praying, saying “Everybody in the business knows I play an atheist… This is an act. This is what we do. This is Hollywood.”

Maher then explains how he became a believer.

“I had a vision when I was 14-years-old. Jesus Christ sat on the end of my bed… There was a white light that came into the room, floated down… and we had a conversati0n. He told me, ‘Have fun with it’… He said, ‘If you do the right thing you will get to heaven’.”

In reality (we think), Maher is an outspoken critic of religion and often uses his HBO show, Real Time with Bill Maher, as a platform to joke about its perceived illogicality.

Maher’s 2008 film, Religulous, is an ode to atheism and warns of the dangers of religion. According to the Internet Movie Database, in Religulous, Maher argues that “The irony of religion is that because of its power to divert man to destructive courses, the world could actually come to an end. The plain fact is, religion must die for mankind to live.”

Lately, Maher has been targeting the terrorists behind the extremist group ISIS. As reported in the Inquisitr, last week Maher objected to Charlie Rose’s comparison between Muslims and Christians.

“Vast numbers of Christians do not believe that if you leave the Christian religion you should be killed for it. Vast numbers of Christians do not treat women as second class citizens… So yes, does ISIS do Khmer Rouge-like activities where they just kill people indiscriminately who aren’t just like them? Yes. And would most Muslim people in the world do that or condone that? No…. But most Muslim people in the world do condone violence just for what you think.”
