Rita Ora Releasing ‘Tight’ New Album, Says She’s Obsessed With ‘American Hip-Hop’
Rita Ora isn’t letting her breakup with Calvin Harris stand in the way of recording good music. In fact, the singer seems pretty proud of her upcoming endeavor.
If you’re a fan of the Fifty Shades of Grey actress, then you’ve probably heard that her upcoming record hit a bit of a snag when she broke up with the world’s highest-paid DJ earlier this year. In fact, Harris reportedly grabbed several of the songs he penned for Rita on his way out the door. What a guy. This understandably threw a huge monkey wrench into her plans, though she didn’t let it get her down for very long.
Rita Ora recently told Billboard that her upcoming album is incredibly “tight.” What’s more, it’s not “confusing” in the least, which is always good when you’re trying to get people to buy your songs. The less confusing, the better.
What does all this mean? Well, Ora really hopes you’ll spend some of your disposable income on her new tunes. Unfortunately, it’s still unclear when the record will hit retail shelves. Word on the street suggests it should arrive early next year. Fingers crossed!
Ora told the aforementioned publication that she intends to focus more on live instruments for her upcoming project. This is precisely why she wanted to work with Prince.
“I wanted to make sure my band onstage was tight as f**k. And the new album is exactly that — it’s tight, it’s clean, it’s not confusing. It’s who I wanted to work with.”
Ora also has a thing for hip-hop music, in case you didn’t know.
“”I’m obsessed with the world that is American hip-hop. I embrace it on this record. I’m from London, but that doesn’t mean I can’t embrace this amazing wave taking over every single radio station.”
When Rita Ora isn’t putting the finishing touches on her new album, she’s rubbing elbows with some of the biggest names in music and fashion. Literally! Newser reports that Ora took in a recent catwalk show for Hunter Original, an event that found the singer sitting next to Sir Paul McCartney and Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
Ora also took a moment to wish Stella McCartney a happy birthday.
Are you a fan of Rita Ora? Do you plan to pick up a copy of the singer’s “tight” new album when it finally arrives at some point next year?
