‘Frozen’ Attraction Coming To Epcot Theme Park
Looks like Frozen has finally found a theme park to call home. According to the New York Times, Walt Disney World is about to start setting up a place for Frozen’s new attraction.
It’s said that the Frozen attraction will replace an old 1980s Maelstrom log flume which is located in the “Norway section” of Epcot. While fans are ecstatic about the news, some people aren’t too happy, especially Maelstrom lovers.
To announce the new Frozen attraction, chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, Thomas O. Staggs said, “When Walt Disney promised that Disneyland would never be completed, so long as there is imagination left in the world, he made a promise to our guests that we take seriously.”
When Frozen’s attraction goes up at Epcot it will for once start to look like other themed parks like Magic Kingdom, which are driven by pop culture attractions and other Disney properties.

So far, we don’t have any concrete details on the Frozen attraction, but it’s sure to be an exciting addition, considering how much success the movie had. Although we don’t have a big picture idea of what the attraction will look like, we do have an idea of what kind of experience Epcot wants to create for fans of the film, and its characters.

Tom Staggs wrote in a Disney Parks blog post, “The new attraction, which replaces Maelstrom, will take our guests to Arendelle and immerse them in many of their favorite moments and music from the film. The pavilion will also include a royal greeting location where Anna and Elsa can meet our guests. We think these “Frozen” elements are great complements to the Norway Pavilion, which showcases the country and region that inspired the film.”
In addition to Epcot, Frozen characters Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff will be more prominent in Magic Kingdom.
“Queen Elsa will use her powers to transform Cinderella Castle into an ice palace every night starting in early November. And Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party-goers can see Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf in “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade.”
As of right now, there’s no word on when Epcot will be done with creating the Frozen attraction, but if one thing is for certain: it’s that the park will be attracting even more tourists than ever.
