During his 43 years at the University of Technology, Sydney, Tony has contributed greatly — as a colleague, as a researcher, and as a health practitioner. Tony will be missed by all at UTS. Our thoughts are with his family at this time.”
Dr. Kidman and his wife, Janelle, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in January with the entire family gathered by their side. It was a joyous celebration. And, more recently, Nicole Kidman was thrilled to have her two favorite men, husband Keith Urban and her dad, walking her down the red carpet at the Swisse Celebrate Life Ball in Melbourne.
Dr. Kidman was extremely close to his daughters, and Nicole often shared wonderful sentiments in regards to her beloved Dad. The Daily Mail recalls some previous statements Nicole made about her father, calling him a “great man that she could rely on at any time of the day.”
“He’s a great father. I can call him at three in the morning and he’s there for me. By the time I was a teenager, I had developed skills as a writer, and my father encouraged me to think about a career in journalism. I began keeping a diary, which I maintain to this day.”
Although Kidman has not made a statement to the press at this time regarding the death of her father, Us Magazine reports that Nicole’s publicist and friend Wendy Day stated, “The family is in shock and is grieving. I think that some time and privacy is needed to deal with this shock and tragedy.”
