Readers of The Inquisitr might recall our report about Gizmo, the miracle cat that survived a nine story fall and lived to tell (or rather meow) the tale. Today we have another astonishing story to tell you — about a cat from British Columbia, Canada, which, believe it or not, survived a 17-story fall!
Say hello to Cleo, which happens to be a Savannah bred cat. According to her owner, Joel Isfeld, his cat survived a 17-story jump from her owners’ apartment balcony and walked away with just a tiny bruise to the animal’s lips. That’s it. Isfeld told CBC News that the cat was missing following the jump, but was eventually found.
The CBC News report adds that Joel posted about her lost cat on Facebook and asked for help locating her. Finally, the cat was found sneaking inside the bushes on the terrace of a nearby building, much to Joel’s relief.
“I didn’t know if she was OK… if she was injured. I was in tears. She (the cat) was shaken up, but other than that she was totally OK. No broken bones, no scrapes, just a small cut on her mouth.”
While 17 stories is an unbelievable height for a cat to fall off from and survive, there have been incidents of other cats falling and surviving from higher floors and surviving. Take, for example, the case of Sugar, a cat from Boston. In 2012, Sugar fell an astonishing 19 stories to the ground and walked away alive — as if nothing had happened.
The Savannah cat breed is well-known for its high intelligence. With the epic 17-story jump and the survival, Cleo proved that they are also adventurous and lucky. Like in the case of Gizmo, everyone is asking Cleo’s owner if he believes that his cat has used up one of its nine lives.
He answered, “She’s only got a couple of lives left now. She is a cool cat!”
Don’t you think Cleo is one lucky cat? And yeah, she’s cute too!
