Pizza Hut’s ‘Meet Stephen,’ Or Is It Blake?

Pizza Hut has been running some interesting promotions over this past year. The Inquisitr has reported on several of them.

“Pizza Hut has been doing some interesting things lately. They have been serving up pizza and a flick in the Middle East. Pizza Hut has been giving away free pizza to fantasy football leagues. Despite reports that have suggested struggling profits, and also falling to the ‘fast food protests,’ Pizza Hut seems to keep offering up some good things.”

Blake Shelton has been the face of the recent string of ads for Pizza Hut. He was the man who introduced one of the most recent and most talked about additions to the Pizza Hut menu, the bacon and cheese stuffed-crust pizza.

The Inquisitr also reported on new bacon crazed pizza.

“It was Pizza Hut’s new spokesperson that introduced the new limited time pie, hopefully soon to be mainstay, Bacon and Cheese stuffed-crust Pizza. According to PR Week, Pizza Hut states it is the ‘world’s shortest press release.'”

Since Mr. Shelton has been a successful spokesperson with his “down home” personality, and reportedly a personal fan of the pizza company, Pizza hut released a new ad campaign with him.

The ad is called “Meet Stephen.” Radio.com reports on the new Ad campaign.

“The concept is simple: get the six-foot-five Shelton pretend to be a regular Pizza Hut employee named ‘Stephen,’ have a manager (obviously out of his depth when it comes to acting) vouch for him, watch customers not buy it for second and all laugh together while stuffing our face with a delicious treat. God bless America!”

Blake Shelton shocked patrons, who were greeted upon entry to the their local Pizza Hut. However, not one of them seemed to believe he was “Stephen,” the Pizza Hut worker.

Taste Of Country reports on one young woman’s interaction.

Come here, tell me what you want. I’m new here, Shelton tells a hungry patron who walks into the restaurant.

This has to be something… This is freaking me out, she says, looking for hidden cameras.

While she stammers in confusion, other pizza workers assure her that Stephen is their newest (very tall) employee.

You’re Blake Shelton! the woman finally says.

I truly am, I’m Stephen, he tells her with a smile.

Though, he feels well disguised, no one seemed to buy it.
