Dianna Agron Returning To ‘Glee’ For Final Season, Show Creator Promises Proper Send-Off
Dianna Agron is coming back to Lima.
The Glee star is one of four original cast members set to return for the final season of the show, slated to air next year. It’s not clear just what role Agron would play, and fans are speculating that it will be as a guest star of some sort as she wasn’t listed as one of the main cast members.
Dianna Agron won’t be alone in returning to Glee. Jenna Ushkowitz, Jayma Mays and Mark Salling are also set to return, though their roles are yet to be determined as well.
Work will get started soon for the returning cast members, with Jenna set to start shooting within the next two weeks and Dianna and Mark slated to be on set later in the month.
Dianna Agron has already been back to the Glee studio, and tweeted to fans a picture of her name on the Capitol Records visitor log.
It appears that Glee is aiming for a reunion of sorts in its final season. Series co-creator and executive producer Ryan Murphy said he wanted as many original cast members as possible to appear, saying he won’t turn anyone away who wants to make an appearance.
There are already a number of original cast members set to return, including Chris Colfer, Darren Criss, Dot-Marie Jones, Matthew Morrison, and Amber Riley. The final season of Glee will be a flash forward, with Rachel (Lea Michele) returning to Lima, Ohio, after her career in Hollywood hit a dead end.
The cast will also include some new faces at McKinley High School, all packed into a shortened, 13-episode season.
Agron has already returned to the show for another milestone, the 100th episode. She joined Mark Salling and Heather Morrison for the two-part celebration last season.
Murphy promised that in its last season Glee will have a proper send-off, with closure for core characters including Dianna Agron and Lea Michele.
