Jennifer Lawrence Missing: ‘Hunger Games’ Actress Hasn’t Been Seen Since Nude Photos Emerged

Jennifer Lawrence isn’t having a very nice September. Just a few days ago, a couple of risque photos allegedly of the Hunger Games actress began circulating online, making its rounds on 4Chan, Reddit, Imgur and other social media platforms. Dubbed as the “Fappening,” the massive nude photo leak allegedly included images of Lawrence, model Kate Upton, and gymnast McKayla Maroney.

A lot has happened since Jennifer’s alleged photos exploded online last week. A few celebs victimized by the leak have spoken against the event, while other observers criticized the blatant lack of privacy and security that made the scandal possible. FBI got in on the issue as news reports claiming that the agency is tracking down suspected hackers dominated the front page. More recently, reportedly as a commentary on the issue, artist XVALA and the Cory Allen Contemporary Art (CACA) decided to portray the images for a public art exhibit.

But in the midst of this “Fappening” controversy, no one has bothered to ask how Jennifer Lawrence was doing during the whole ordeal. Jennifer’s fans are worried, as reports that she hasn’t been seen around town since the incident began trending amongst Hollywood’s finest gossipers. According to the Mirror, Lawrence is missing and hasn’t been seen in public since the photos emerged. Insiders believe that the actress might just be hiding from the public and will eventually make an appearance when the whole issue sizzles, but fans remain concerned about Lawrence and how she is coping with the whole scandal.

Nevertheless, Jennifer Lawrence’s lawyers are very much making themselves visible. Furious and agitated by how Lawrence has been disrespected by some netizens involved in the hack, the actress’ legal team tells Mirror that they will see to it that anyone who posts Jennifer’s stolen photos will face the full extent of law.

“This is a flagrant violation of privacy. The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence.”

Meanwhile, subreddit /r/Fappening has been banned from Reddit, preventing any massive sharing of the photos on the popular website. The subreddit’s mod did an AMA to defend his actions and denied any violations of Reddit’s rules regarding Jennifer and other celebs’ pictures. Washington Post, one of the first websites to investigate the subreddit and it’s primary mod “Johnsmcjohn,” was criticized for “doxxing” the mod, which means digging through his profile and exposing particulars that could potentially be used to reveal his true identity.

Jennifer Lawrence will reprise her role as Katniss Everdeen on Mockingjay Part 1, set to open on theaters later this year.
