Did Durex Really Make A Pumpkin Spice Condom?
Most people these days go crazy over pumpkin spice everything, but over the weekend people were going a bit nuts over a new rumored Durex product. For a small window of time, the condom manufacturer didn’t confirm or deny that they were introducing a pumpkin spice condom, but for a bit it sounded like it could be legitimate.
A photo of a Durex pumpkin spice condom made the rounds on the web over the weekend, which received a few hilarious responses from fans of pumpkin spice.

Quartz wanted to delve into this rumored new flavor and decided to contact Durex’s parent company to see if customers could get their pumpkin spice on in the near future. At the time, the site said they couldn’t get anyone to confirm or deny the news.
According to Virgo Health, Durex’s parent company a spokeswoman said “she couldn’t say whether the company was or was not actually developing such a thing.”
Sure, it’s a pretty outrageous news tip, but then again Durex has been transforming the brand into some kind of fun factory with their many different flavors as of late. So far you can buy condoms that come in apple, strawberry, orange, and banana flavor, so pumpkin spice didn’t seem to be off the mark entirely, especially if Durex wanted to take advantage of the holiday season like Starbucks.
Once Quartz picked up the story, other outlets were hot on Durex’s trail and wanted to uncover if this was actually the real deal or a really funny hoax. As reported by BuzzFeed, it’s the latter. The outlet continued where Quartz left off, and got in contact with a spokesperson from Durex that was willing to talk about the pumpkin spice condom story.
“Durex has heard that people are saying we launched a ‘Pumpkin Spice’ condom. We can’t claim this one, but we do love it when people spice up the bedroom.”
As much as people go nuts over pumpkin, we’ve learned some things are just not meant to be made out of the popular flavor.
We have to give kudos to whoever created the image as it’s a pretty convincing mock up.
