Louis Tomlinson Refers To One Direction As ‘Little Scumbags’
Louis Tomlinson certainly has a way with words. When asked about the success he’s achieved with One Direction, the 22-year-old old singer describes himself and his bandmates as “little scumbags.” Chances are fans disagree with that description.
Regardless of what people may think about 1D’s brand of catchy, radio-friendly music, it’s hard to deny the fact that the guys are extremely humble and completely down-to-earth. Although they sell out shows around the globe and move tons of records on a regular basis, Tomlinson proved yet again that the boys still don’t take their achievements for granted. For a best-selling pop group, they’re surprisingly humble.
According to Metro, Louis Tomlinson is clearly surprised by the level of success he and One Direction have enjoyed over the past few years. In fact, Tomlinson was quick to lovingly refer the group as a collection of “little scumbags.” If that doesn’t make you adore One Direction, then we certainly don’t know what will. Seriously.
These admittedly amusing comments arrived during Louis’ recent chat with the Sun. According to the singer, he and the rest of the guys are constantly surprised that they’ve officially arrived at the stadium phase of their careers.
“I feel like we’ve blagged it again. You look at the names of who’s played at Wembley and you almost feel like you’re not worthy of it. We just feel like we’re just little scumbags.”
In case you’re wondering, the Cambridge Advanced Learner’s Dictionary defines the term “blag” as “to persuade someone in a clever or slightly dishonest way to allow you to do something or to give you something.” Going forward, please don’t say that you never learned anything by reading an article on The Inquisitr. It’s simply not true.
Louis Tomlinson isn’t the only member of 1D who’s a little surprised by the amount of attention the group gets these days. The Inquisitr previously reported that Niall Horan is constantly in a state of shock regarding their popularity. Instead of referring to himself and his bandmates as “scumbags,” he preferred the term “idiots.”
“We’re still the same five idiots from three years ago… We spend every day together. We have a good time on the road and obviously it’s so important that we all get along or it won’t work. There could have easily been one person who didn’t get on with anyone, who nobody liked but it wasn’t like that. The relationship that’s grown with these four boys that I didn’t even know three years ago is absolutely insane and it’s incredible. I’m very lucky that I get to spend so much time with them.”
What do you think about Louis Tomlinson’s assessment of One Direction? Are you surprised that the band is so popular right now?
