The Amber Alert for 9-year-old Cameron Gokey in Houston was canceled once he was found shortly before midnight on Thursday evening. He was unharmed, according to KHOU .
The Amber Alert was issued by Police who were “searching for Cameron Gokey who was last seen Thursday at 12:30 pm when his mother, Allison Gokey, 37, reportedly checked him out of Krahn Elementary School,” as reported by Click 2 Houston .
Although the boy was last seen with his mother, authorities believe Allison to be emotionally unstable.
The Amber Alert described Cameron as “white, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He is 4 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 40-50 pounds.” A description was also given of his mother as “white, with brown hair and hazel eyes. She is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds.”
Based on those descriptions at the time the Amber Alert was sent out around 9:30 pm, a Willis hotel manager saw Allison Gokey standing in the hotel lobby around 10pm. The hotel manager called the police immediately. It was soon discovered that Allison Gokey has full legal custody of her son, Cameron, and he was safe.
After police spoke with Allison Gokey and Cameron, she was allowed to leave with her son, according to KHOU . And the Amber Alert was then cancelled.
