Britney Spears Dives Back Into The Studio

Britney Spears has been having a rough career as of late, mostly due to some difficult personal issues and a disintegrating reputation. But after a devastating breakup with her boyfriend David Lucado, Britney is ready to get back to work repairing her image and making more music.

The Daily Mail reported that Britney Spears is throwing herself back into her work to get over the heartbreak of losing Lucado. Britney described the day they split her as a “really really sh***y day.” Since then, Spears has been recording new songs for an upcoming album and hopefully a new tour.

Spears shared a photo of herself online looking bright and sunny, flashing a smile and a peace sign at the camera from the recording studio. Britney standing in front of a mic with lyrics on a sheet of paper in front of her, apparently prepped to lay down a vocal track for a brand new Britney Spears hit.

Something that may be a little surprising to see in the photo is a pack of cigarettes, which could suggest to fans and skeptics that Britney has not fully gotten over her vices. But perhaps Spears has to take things one step at a time, even if she is endangering her vocal cords.

Britney announced her breakup from David via Twitter last Thursday. Lucado allegedly cheated on Britney, but claims that it wasn’t technically cheating. Either way, Britney has called the whole thing off, and her sister Jamie has banned David from seeing or speaking with her. Britney’s personal issues and professional decisions have been overseen by her younger sister since the 2008 breakdown that started Britney’s downward career spiral.

But it seems like things could finally be picking up for Spears. MTV gave a very excited report about Britney stepping into the studio again, with high hopes for her songs after her latest effort Britney Jean disappointed fans and critics alike.

MTV suggests that the next step for Britney to regain her success is moving past the breakup and finding a new voice. Britney joked about her boyfriend’s infidelity at a live Las Vegas show this past Sunday:

“Well, by now everyone knows my boyfriend cheated on me. But the best part of breaking up,” said Britney Spears, “is going on first dates. OMG, OMG, I need a hot guy. Where are the hot guys here tonight?”
