Calvin Harris May Have Inspired Rita Ora’s New Songs
Calvin Harris and Rita Ora’s relationship may have inspired some of the material found on her upcoming album. However, the Fifty Shades of Grey actress is keeping details about the material pretty cryptic at the moment.
For those who missed the news, Harris and his girlfriend experienced a pretty messy breakup earlier this year. Not only did Calvin share some details on social media, he also took a few of his tunes away from Ora. In fact, the very rich DJ ultimately prevented her from performing his tracks during this year’s Teen Choice Awards. Ouch.
However, just because Harris doesn’t want to discuss the breakup doesn’t mean Ora plans to keep her mouth shut. In fact, she recently told Metro that the material featured on her next record will delve deeply into her personal life. Does this mean Calvin Harris is one of the topics? While she didn’t reveal any specifics, it’s definitely not out of the question.
“I’ve written a lot of the songs and they are as honest as possible. It’s about my love life and what I love to do and how I love to go out and all that stuff.”
As far as Rita is concerned, she intends to work the Calvin Harris-produced track “I Will Never Let You Down” into her live sets going forward.
“At that time, the song came from a good place so it always reminds me of that place. And I love the song.”
According to TV3.ie, Ora understands that Calvin Harris had every right to prevent her from performing “I Will Never Let You Down” during the 2014 Teen Choice Awards. After all, the DJ owns the TV rights to the ditty. However, Harris’ ex-girlfriend wishes he would have given her a bit of notice beforehand.
“I could have got told a few weeks earlier, you know. That would have been nice. It was a last minute change, but you know what, it happens and we move on and move forward… It is what it is, man. You know, you write a song with somebody, and I guess there’s some stuff that comes with it… Everything happens for a reason, that’s how I look at it.”
Unfortunately for Rita Ora, Calvin Harris’ decision to take back his songs has temporarily derailed the singer’s plan to release a new album. The Fifty Shades of Grey actress’ next studio project should finally hit retail shelves early next year.
