Alfonso Soriano Feels ‘Mistreated’ By Chicago Cubs Manager Mike Quade

Alfonso Soriano came to the Chicago Cubs after a career season netted him a $136 million eight-year contract which has been met with nothing but disappointment for Chicago Cubs fans, yet Soriano recently decided to whine about his 7th-in-the-order batting placement instituted by Cubbie manager Mike Quade.

This is what Soriano had to say during an interview with ESPN.com:

“I’m not a guy that fights with people,” and “The way they treat me this year, I don’t like it. The way they have me hit in the No. 7, 5 and 6 spots, I have trouble concentrating on the job hitting in those different spots. But (Mike) Quade is the manager and does his best to try to make the team better.”

Seriously Soriano? For $136 million you should be able to concentrate batting ninth in the order with a sniper rifle pointed directly at your head.

Instead of stepping up the highest paid failure in major league baseball is hitting .244 on the season with a .288 on-base percentage. Sure he has 25 home runs and 85 RBIs but that doesn’t make up for the fact that it’s the most RBI’s he’s had as a Cubbie when his pay should be showing consistently better stats.

For a guy who “lost his legs” almost immediately after he signed his big-time contact Soriano sure is doing a lot more complaining than winning.

What do you think about Alfonso Soriano whining about his second-tier player batting placement?
