Martin Scorsese is collaborating with A-list actors Brad Pitt, Robert De Niro, and Leonardo DiCaprio for Melco Crown Entertainment’s casino-themed short film for the new Studio City resort in Macau, which is scheduled to open next year. This is the first time that the three gentlemen have worked together on the same project.
The short film was written by Terence Winter, who was the creator of Boardwalk Empire and the screenwriter for Wolf of Wall Street. According to Pursuitist , the short film is scheduled to premiere during the opening of the resort and casino sometime next year, and will be used as a promotional campaign to entice tourists from all over the world to visit the billion-dollar resort.
The $2.3 billion Studio City resort will feature an entertainment studio, a shopping mall, 2,000 rooms, 1,500 slot machines, a theater that seats 2,300, and 500 gaming tables. There are four hotels that are planned on the site including the Tang Hotel, Marriott Hotel, W Hotel, and the Ritz-Carlton.
Lawrence Ho from Melco Crown Entertainment is excited about the new addition to Macau.

Pitt, fresh from his wedding to Angelina Jolie, flew from France to New York on Sunday to begin filming. Both Pitt and De Niro looked sharp sporting suits. Pitt was also wearing his wedding ring.
RatPac Entertainment, the producer of the Scorsese short film is also thrilled about the collaboration.

Leonardo DiCaprio has starred in five Scorsese films namely Gangs of New York, Shutter Island, The Aviator, The Departed, and The Wolf of Wall Street. Robert DeNiro, on the other hand, has done eight films with Scorsese including Casino, Cape Fear, Goodfellas, The King of Comedy, Raging Bull, New York New York, Taxi Driver, and Mean Streets. This is Brad Pitt’s first time to work with the Oscar-winning director.
Aside from the short-film, Martin Scorsese is also set to direct a television prequel of the movie Shutter Island on HBOcalled Ashcliffe. He is also scheduled to direct a movie about the 1970’s punk rock band The Ramones.
