Donnie Wahlberg, Jenny McCarthy Wedding: Pair To Marry This Weekend, Who Won’t Be Attending?
Reports indicate that the Donnie Wahlberg-Jenny McCarthy wedding will take place on Saturday. However, fans apparently should not expect to see a lot of photos showing the full Wahlberg family in attendance with smiles all-around. It seems some key family members will not be there.
According to TMZ, Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy’s wedding bash will not have Mark Wahlberg, his wife Rhea, or their kids present. In addition, it seems Mama Wahlberg won’t be there, nor will Donnie’s brother Bobby. Brother Paul, however, will be there.
What’s the issue? Supposedly for Donnie’s mom Alma, the issue is that she doesn’t fly. Some ponder, however, how she couldn’t make it as she’s in Boston and the wedding is said to be in New York, a distance that could be managed without a flight. As for Mark, his rep says that he will not be at Donnie and Jenny’s wedding because there is a birthday party for his daughter Ella Saturday in Los Angeles. Though her birthday is Tuesday, he will be filming in Boston that day, so the party is over the weekend and he insists on being there.
Is it all really that simple and reasonable? TMZ says perhaps not. Supposedly Mark and Rhea are not all that pleased that Donnie is marrying Jenny, and they are not exactly fans of hers. Supposedly a recent interview McCarthy did with Howard Stern did not go over well with the family.
As the Daily Mail notes, Wahlberg, 45, and McCarthy, 41, got engaged in April. They both have been married to others previously, but it sounds like it’s still going to be a rather elaborate affair. McCarthy has described the locale as “boutique,” and she had mentioned that they were having a hard time cutting down the guest list. However, they wanted to try to “make sure the core group is there.” Many would say it is rather interesting that the “core group” ends up not having Donnie’s mom or two of his brothers there.
The Boston Herald notes that ultimately Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy’s wedding will have only about 80 guests. The two met via Andy Cohen’s Bravo show Watch What Happens Live, and at one point McCarthy even hoped that Cohen would officiate. Fans seem pretty divided on this pairing and not everybody is convinced the marriage will last for long.
