Ferrari Doesn’t Like Nyan Cat, Forces Deadmau5 To Get Rid of His Purrari 458 [Photos]
Ferrari apparently does not like the famous pop tart kitty known as Nyan Cat. Or at least they do not want their brand associated with anything so irreverent to the history of their supercars. But now the famous car company has forced famous DJ Deadmau5 (aka Joel Zimmerman) to give up his awesome car wrap for his Ferrari 458 Italia, which he calls his Purrari 458.
In a related report by The Inquisitr, the new 2015 Corvette Stingray is amazingly going to be a gas saver, although that’s still not as crazy as the Star Wars Darth car.
If you have forgotten the Nyan Cat, it’s an internet meme showing a cat with the body of a pop tart flying through space while trailing a rainbow. The internet meme even came with its own website and theme song that you could endlessly loop until your mind went numb.
The Purrari 458 is about as unique a car as you can imagine. Deadmau5 did not stop at a simple car wrap — he went all the way and created custom car badges and floor mats emblazoned with the Purrari logo. But as far as Ferrari is concerned this concept diminished the Ferrari brand name somehow and they ordered Deadmau5 to cease and desist. The famous DJ has since restored his poor Purrari 458 to a regular old white car.
I wonder if the jackass lawyer at
@FerrariUSA who sent us a “cease and desist” letter over the purrari is un-butthurt now that I unwrapped.

Yeah it was mostly about the custom floor matts and the custom purrari badges. Whatever. It’s just a normal ass 458 now. All good. — deadmau5 (@deadmau5) August 27, 2014
Do you think it’s right that Ferrari was able to force Deadmau5 to get rid of his Purrari 458?
