Britney Spears Split: Did Britney’s Dad Buy David Lucado’s Cheating Video?

Britney Spears has split from her boyfriend, David Lucado, after she saw a video of him making out with another woman. According to TMZ, Britney’s dad, Jamie Spears, actually purchased the video to spare his daughter public embarrassment. When news of the video being up for sale surfaced, Jamie went after it, and spent a “substantial” amount of money to ensure that the video didn’t make its way to the public sphere via the media or otherwise.

Apparently Jamie also wanted the video for another reason. He wanted to show it to Britney, so that she knew the truth — and had the proof so that she could kick Lucado to the curb, which is exactly what she did.

“Jamie’s rep tells us he took the action to protect his daughter from David and from the embarrassment of the video going public. Jamie’s rep says the video is under lock and key and will never be seen again.”

Britney Spears announced her new single status on Twitter on Thursday. She didn’t seem overly upset, and it actually seems like she’s taking things well. While there were reports that Brit was ready to get married to David Lucado — and have a baby with him– she is officially back on the market — and he totally screwed up big time. Seriously. Who cheats on Britney Spears?!

There are a few unknowns when it comes to the video. For instance, it is unknown who the woman that was dancing and kissing Lucado was. There seems to be some speculation about her — perhaps she was someone that people know and not just a “nobody.” However, the chances of finding out who the woman was are slim, unless David starts dating her… or she comes forward. Jamie Spears has said that he will sue anyone who tries to expose the video. “If anybody posts or publishes the video he will sue them for copyright infringement,” reports TMZ.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, a rep said that Lucado loves Spears and he’s hoping that things work out. Spears, however, doesn’t seem too interested.

“David is very, very in love with Britney. This is unfortunate and he hopes that it all works out.”
